            "Since last year AFA SCL started to commercialize sustainable soybean under the RFS -2 EPA System , which was developed by US Environmental Protection Agency aiming to certify the traceability of biodiesel imported by United States. Therefore, AFA SCL’s sustainable soybean is utilized for the production of biodiesel destined to United States. Sustainable soybean certification process conducted by AFA SCL is audited by the Argentine subsidiary of Control Union, a leading Company of Commodity inspections and Certifications. Throughout 2015, all associate farmers have trusted the commercialization of Sustainable Soybean offered by AFA SCL, they certified the system’s sustainability and nowadays they are obtaining economic benefits and are assisting in preserving the environment."

Profile

AFA (Agric. Federados Args.) is an Argentinean cooperative that produces and trades in agricultural products, with the majority including soy. In addition to this, AFA offers farmers a wide range of other services including logistic services, insurance products, technical assistance and financing solutions. AFA is one of the largest cooperations in Latin America, generating millions of tons of soybean per year, the main portion of which are used for the production of biodiesel for North America.
