"Eucalyptus, the raw material of Fibria's pulp, comes from renewable planted forests that contribute to the protection of the soil and native forests, sequester carbon and favor climate and air quality. Planted forests are therefore part of solving the impacts related to the environment and climate change. Fibria cultivates 656,000 hectares of eucalyptus in the states of Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul. In addition, it maintains 374,000 hectares intended exclusively for conservation in interspersed with plantations for restoration of native vegetation and protection of springs and biodiversity, and an additional 61,000 hectares for other uses."
